Walk the wrong way

So I have been gone for 5 months. So weird. As though I completely disappeared from the face of the earth.

Hah. Not yet.

Anyway, it has been so long since I posted an entry and sorry about that! This is what has been happening for the past 5 months. Peak season at work started in August and it kept going till December. Then, for work, I was away in Sydney, Egypt & Turkey for almost a month! January, baby came to town, and we completed our wedding photoshoot. 1 thing done and 1001 things left to do before the wedding dinner in July.

Now, I am completely blown away by the news of disasters around the world. Snow storms in Europe & America, floods in Australia and political unrest in Egypt. I spoke to mt friend, Mohamed who lives in Cairo and the situation does not look too good.

In 2 days’ time, I will be leaving to Melbourne & Sydney for work. Hopefully the weather stays nice (looks like crap from weather forecasts)

Happy Lunar New Year and may be rabbits have an abundance of carrots. HUAT ah!

I am back from NY!

It was crazy weather there, the temperature hitting 39 degrees on 2 days but I had so much fun. I enjoyed the time spent with baby and it was indeed well treasured moments!

Yes. It was indeed truly awesome. So first I walked to Citibank and did some bank stuff. Then I went to Raffles Place and cut through UOB Plaza Building to the Singapore River. Finally, I sat by the river and watched the world go by.

It was a rather gloomy day and that was fine with me, because it was breezy and not too warm. After sitting there for about 20 minutes, the sun came out and I decided to walk back to the office. It took me about 25 minutes to get back to the office and the experience of going through Boat Quay and back on the street was rather novel. I felt like a tourist and took some pictures.

I decided to post some pictures for your viewing pleasure! Hope you enjoy them!

I sat by a bench near one of Botero’s work of art.

The river and the buildings across

Boat Quay on the left. This stretch is especially busy at night because all the restaurants and bars are opened then. This afternoon was so quiet it felt like I was somewhere else.

A bird on the lamp post, it was flying from one lamp to the other and making a whole lot of noise (metal clanking against its claws) Haha.

Finally a statue of a boy and his dog by the river. Such nostalgia, because the boy was wearing singlet with shorts and a sling school bag. This was so Singapore in the 7os :)

It got warmer and WARMER as I walked back to work. Such a calm relief to enter the building with AIRCON. I was thinking omg, how did I get so far in the first place?

Sleepy me.

I guess age is catching up. What age, you may ask but it is true.

I used to be able to stay up till 3 or 4 am and feel perfectly fine the next morning, however these days, sleeping at 1 am makes me feel like I have a huge hangover. I wake up in the morning, looking and feeling horrible, and no amount of make up is going to make me look better. Piling more make up on clog my pores and I get more pimples. YUCKS.

This evening, I went to Rivervale Plaza and bought stuff at EZ Home Products. I saw lady boss there and she has become thinner. I guess she is really working very hard. My first and only part time job before my poly days was at EZ and I remember the long 8 am to 10 pm working hours. Thinking back, I really find it amazing I could work 14 hours a day then!

Listening to Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana as I type this entry and I remember how Qian Hui aka Smoky was so crazy about Nirvana during our poly days. And I only heard this song last year for the FIRST time! I am real slow huh? Lol.

Ok, time to go zzz, good night peeps!
